“Not all classrooms have four walls and not all lessons are learned inside school.”
Queens College recognizes that true education transcends the confines of traditional classrooms, often thriving in the experiences gained through travel. With this philosophy in mind, the school organized an educational tour for students from October 1st, 2023, to October 8th, 2023, encompassing Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer.
An entourage of 173 students ranging from class VI to XII embarked on this educational excursion. The tour commenced with an enlightening visit to Udaipur’s City Palace, where students delved into the historical legacy of Mewar. The day culminated with a mesmerizing Katputli show and an excursion to Saheliyon ki Bari. On the following day, students embarked on an exploration of Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, gaining valuable insights into Rajasthani culture and enjoying an enriching encounter with Union Cabinet Minister Sir Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The tour then ventured to the desert camp in Jaisalmer, where students were treated to cultural performances, exhilarating camel safaris, and a profound immersion into India’s rich heritage. The last day featured a visit to the Border Security Force War Museum, where students had the opportunity to try rifle shooting and rock climbing. The journey concluded with a serene visit to Gadisar Lake.
This journey not only enriched students’ understanding of fortitude and gratitude but also cultivated a profound respect for India’s enduring traditions. Rajasthan’s timeless beauty and the gracious hospitality of its people left an indelible impression on the hearts of the students.
