Hard work, dedication and commitment are selected as tools to sharpen learning and assimilation. Individual attention and motivation are essential components of the school culture at this level.
Overview
In keeping with the vision of the school, academic initiatives in the senior wing are directed towards academic excellence catering to classes 9 to 12, the age group of the students here beingfrom fourteen to eighteen years of age. Hard work, dedication and commitment are selected as tools to sharpen learning and assimilation. Individual attention and motivation are essential components of the school culture at this level. Students are encouraged to participate in events, sports and cultural activities according to their passion along with academics. Time management and responsibility are key ingredients that drive this age group in the school. Students are helped to recognise their interests and further their skills.
Learning & Teaching strategies
The teaching pedagogy adopted encompasses student centric/student welfare techniques accelerated by regular counselling sessions to resolve academic and personal issues if any faced by the students. Learning in a stress-free environment which is largely experiential is the adopted strategy. Placing the aspects of Social Emotional Learning as milestones, learning outcomes of every topic are taken up by the mentors and established with the students. In keeping with the parameters of the New Education Policy, elements of the formal curriculum are galvanised with inculcation of Life Skills which provide learning for life and enrich competency levels of the learners. An Individual Profile of each student is maintained containing information about the all-round development of the student throughout the academic year.
Self-monitoring, peer monitoring, peer tutoring, group tutoring are effective techniques that have been tried and tested and have proven to be very effective.
Assessment
Assessment is conducted to enable both the mentors and the mentees to achieve the objectives of learning. The school applies a planned system of assessment towards the academic gradation of the student. Motivational strategies are adopted to facilitate the learners to attain higher levels of academic excellence and improve their learning graph.
Feedback is given to the parents minimum eight times a year and suggestions are given through collective or individual parent teacher meetings.
