In Queens’ College the Career Counselling and Guiding Cell helps students to know better about their interests, hobbies, personality and academic interests through various webinars, workshops, and tests. The Career Counselling and Guiding Cell provide both group as well as individual counselling. Special slots are given to students for one-on-one counselling.
Career Counselling for Students
- We focus on the right kind of skills, analyses and exposure that would help the students to build their profile for admissions to various universities as well as for their careers.
- Providing updated information regarding various choices of subject, courses & colleges and current career trends.
- Helping students access and fill in forms for universities within India and overseas and get them to begin the process well in time so that they do not miss out on deadlines.
- Giving sustained support in the admission process that includes writing out recommendation letters and helping with the Personal Statements to be submitted.
- Orient students through various sessions and webinars.
iDream Career Counseling
Queens College Indore, in collaboration with iDream Career counseling team, conducted a four-day comprehensive career counseling session in February 2024 for students from classes IX to XII. The session included three rounds, featuring mass counseling to inform about career options and subject streams, an online psychometric test assessing personality and aptitude, and individual meetings with parents and students to discuss personalized results and suggested career paths. This approach aimed to provide well-rounded assessment and guidance, empowering students and parents to make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. iDream Career counseling team demonstrated dedication to supporting students in their journey towards a successful future.
Career Pathways with Expert Guidance
Workshop -“Managing 21st century challenges”
“In the middle of difficulties lie opportunities. We just have to do is identify the silver lining in the cloud and move towards it.”
With the increase in challenges and competitions, the need to develop resilience to hold under pressure has also increased significantly. Keeping the same in mind, a session on “Managing 21st century challenges” was conducted on 21st April, 2023 for the students of X and XII. The session was conducted by renowned motivational speaker and life skill trainer Dr. Shweta Tomar. During the interactive session students were enlightened about techniques of stress and time management while correlating life with Ramayana depicting Rama as our soul or inward light, Sita as our intellect, Hanuman as commitment and Laxmana as our mindfulness. Students were sensitized about the 16 Gunas (qualities) which they must adopt in order to cultivate thankfulness in their lives and to be diligent, virtuous, and presentable. Various activities were organized in order to set future goals for students. The session empowered our students and taught them hands on techniques for creating psychological distance from negative thoughts.

Students' Workshop on Life Skills
Queens’ College got a wonderful opportunity to organise workshops on “Life Skills” from February 7, 2022 to February 10,2022 for the students of class XII. The resource person was Dr. Swaroop Rawal who is an acclaimed life skill educator, a teacher, trainer ,actor and former Miss India 1979 who conducted these workshops under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amritmahotsav”. Life Skills are social, emotional and cognitive skills that help us in our day-to-day schedule. Also, she marked the point that livelihood skills and life skills are two different aspects. Both of them have their own importance in one’s life. Further, she shared the 8 core life skills.

On day one, ma’am elucidated the first skill “Understanding and Managing Emotions”. Day two directed the role of Skill of Creative thinking, Critical thinking and Problem Solving in life. “Decision Making- an essence of life skill” became the fulcrum of the day three. On the last day of workshop Spirituality in Mandala art was highlighted. Mandala art helps to reduce stress and anxiety, build patience and perseverance. The workshop helped the students by enlightening them how to deal with stress, anxiety and depression and build positive emotions for self and surrounding. This life guiding programme culminated with the vote of gratitude expressed by students and honourable Principal Smita Rathore.
Webinar on 'Careers in Law'
- Students were advised to read bare acts and judgements.
- Examinations they need to clear to get a judicial post.
- Various other fields after completing law such as International Law, Insolvency Code, Arbitration and conciliation, Family laws
- Law and Politics and how law students can be benefitted in political career.
- Various administrative posts such as IAS and IPS that can be taken up after thelaw course.
General Session on Career Counselling
Queens’ College career counselling team organized a session for students of classes IX and X on 23rd August, 2020 via Zoom meeting in coordination with Kranavati University, Ahmedabad.
The expert laid stress on the right combination of subjects as per the aptitude of the students. His session aimed at making the audience aware of multiple career options, and courses in different streams.
Webinar by KIC UnivAssist
A virtual WebiFair was organised by KIC UnivAssist on 26 September, 2020. Students got a chance to meet one-on-one with 40 different colleges and universities around the world.
Training Programme by IIST, Indore
Indore Institute of Science and Technology organised a free online training programme for class 12, (2020-21 batch) by eminent experts. The training was from May17, 2021 to May 23, 2021 on Web Design & Development, CSS, HTML, Java Script, SQL, Python and Project Development.
Online Certification programs by Silver Oak University, Ahmedabad
Students of Queens’ College opted for online courses on SAP and ERP which were organised by Silver Oak University between June 7th 2021 to 14th June, 2021. Students acquired an in-depth knowledge of Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) Finance, Material Management, Sales & Distribution, Production Planning, Quality Management, Human Resources and SCM (Supply chain management) under SAP and ERP Courses. Entrepreneurship students were acquainted with the concept of Entrepreneurship, Skills required to become an Entrepreneur, the good, bad and ugly of being an Entrepreneur, Industries and Business Models etc.
Seminar by Mithibai and Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai
Mithibai and NarseeMonjee College, Mumbai organised a seminar on July 03, 2021 on Career Opportunities after class XII Commerce. The Speaker of the event Dr. Vijay Satra threw light on various career options available to Commerce students and future educational and professional options of B.Com/BBA/BMS/BFM/BAF/ B.Com (Hons) and many other options after XII grade.
One to One counselling
Students are guided to have Me Time every day, which helps them to know about themselves, thus inculcating SEL practice of Self Awareness right from classes VI-XII
The Queens’ Career and Guidance Team interacts intensively with students of class VI-XII in order to help them choose their career according to their interests and calibre. Students’ Profile Form are filled in carefully that help in ascertaining their interests, hobbies, strengths, weakness, career goals, achievements and choices of subjects.
