“Education is the key to shaping future leaders who can tackle the world’s challenges,”
The QC- Model United Nations (MUN) organized at Queens College, Indore on 21st and 22nd August 2023 on ‘The Global Happiness Summit’ aimed to provide students with an interactive platform to engage in diplomatic discussions and simulate real-world international relations. The event was graced by the presence of renowned visionaries of MUN world Rizpah Cardoza, Zahra, David Salins and Purujit.
150 Students of standard VI to XII participated enthusiastically. The various committees were AIPPM, United Nation Environment Program, United Nation Human Right Council, and United Nation Security Council. By simulating real United Nations committees, students were able to gain insights into global affairs, international politics, and the challenges faced by various nations. It provided a platform for students to develop essential diplomatic skills, such as public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, and consensus-building.
The first day of QC-MUN was power packed with fruitful deliberations. Taking about AIPPM, they eloquently discussed about the measures to avert growing water disputes across Indian States and Territories. The delegates of UNEP set their best foot forward while suggesting necessary steps to plan sustainable methods for the reduction of air pollution due to industries and automobiles. The delegates of UNHRC came up with well analysed measures to ensure the protection of rights of Rohingya Muslims. The delegates of UNSC talked about the sustainable solutions for the issue of the South China Sea. The closing ceremony witnessed a plethora of cultural events. The two day conference concluded with the felicitation of following outstanding delegates of each committee with a trophy and certificate:-
