Examination Policy
Pre-primary wing
Assessment in pre-primary classes provides direction for learning of new skills and focuses on the child’s areas of strengths. Progress is recorded for each aspect of development on a continuous basis and teachers plan activities based on the assessment of the children.
The progress of children is recorded for overall aspects of development on a continuous basis. The focus areas are

Primary Wing
Assessment is an integral part of the teaching learning process. To ensure the effectiveness of learners’ educational experience the assessment of students follows Continuous and Compressive Evaluation (CCE). It intends to provide a holistic profile of the learner, through assessment of both scholastic and co- scholastic aspects of education over the total span of instructional time in school.
Recognizing the needs of 21st century Queens focusses on development of skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity in the learners to prepare them for the new world of work. Therefore, with changing times it is no longer enough to have memory-based assessments that only test content recollection.
Tools of Assessment consist of Formative and Summative Assessments. The formative assessments include Portfolio, Journals and Notebook upkeep andsubject enrichment activities aligned with the curriculum. These are aimed at the improvement of understanding and skill development including models, diagrammatic representation, and Aural Comprehension.
Summative Assessment includes MCQ and Pen – Paper Test to encourage in students skills of observation and presentation.

Middle Wing
Learning is a continuous process and periodic assessment of the learners’ skill development and concept enhancement boosts their confidence and further acts as a catalyst for taking the learning graph higher. In sync with the new National Education Policy 2020 we follow multiple assessment strategies to prepare the students for the 21st century. Tools of Assessment consist of Formative and Summative Assessments. Secondary & Sr. Secondary Wing
In sync with the new National Policy 2020 multiple assessment strategies are adopted to direct the students towards academic excellence. A well-planned system of evaluation enables the students to achieve objectives of learning and helps them to take up their learning graph higher. Students receive immediate feedback after active participation in various events. These are embedded carefully in day-to-day classroom transactions. They include AUMS, Portfolio, Practical, Project work, Art integration and other skill-based activities that are continuously evolving. The pedagogy involves boosting their critical thinking and sharpening analytical/problem solving skills. It thereby empowers them to demonstrate their abilities and knowledge application in areas other than summative exams.
Summative assessments include Periodic Tests followed by Term End Exams that are conducted to bring greater synergy in learners, thereby preparing them for higher education.

External examinations
External examinations provide exposure to the parameters of assessment beyond the domain of the school. They challenge the learner and provide exposure for competition at public levels .To enhance critical, logical, and analytical thinking, students participate in several educational Olympiads which are organised by private and governmental concern.

At Queens’ College, the subject experts guide the students to explore various dimensions of Olympiads at national and International level. They become well informed at an early stage about these external exams. Participation in these outside exams gives them opportunities to further their knowledge and application skills. They are:
The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) covering areas like Science, Social Science, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law
The Olympiad programme in Astronomy (junior and senior levels),Biology, Chemistry, Junior Science and Physics,
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in collaboration with teacher associations in other subjects,
The Mathematical Olympiad programme and more. These assessments help them explore, learn and assimilate knowledge and steer closer to their career goals.
