Guidelines for the parents

  • 1. It is mandatory for parents to attend the PTM held on the day of the Hostel Annual Function.
  • 2. Please ensure that expensive articles like gold jewellery and gadgets are not given to your daughter.
  • 3. Mobile phones are allowed only if a child is traveling alone to and from home. Cameras and other devices if brought should be submitted to the hostel reception while reporting to the hostel. These can be taken back at the time of departure.
  • 4. You are requested not to worry if you receive information about your daughter’s illness. The best possible facilities will be made available to her for treatment, and you will be informed immediately if your presence is required.

Visits

  • 1. Parents and local guardians may visit their wards on Sundays and on public holidays.
  • 2. School reception is the designated place for the visitors.
  • 3. Visiting the dorms is prohibited.
  • 4. Please do not request to arrange for meetings during coaching time.
  • 5. Your visits should not come in the way of daily routine of your ward. Hence keep them short. Half an hour is the duration for all visits.
    • Timings for visit:
  1. a) On Sundays between 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
  2. b) On Working days – 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Classes X – XII) and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm (Classes III – IX)
    3. c) Change in school timings during winters should be checked in order to avoid any inconvenience during your visit.

Parent Outings

  • 1. Parents can take their wards on outings on Sundays or on holidays after prior permission from the Hostel Superintendent. If we have special occasions, celebrations or outings, the hostel authority has full right to deny any such outing.
  • 2. If parents/ guardians are unable to pick up their ward, the escort should have an authority letter duly signed by parents/ guardians.
  • 3. If a student fails to report on time after holidays, the warden must be informed before time. Such leave will be granted only on medical grounds and a medical certificate needs to be submitted along with the leave application.
  • 4. To obtain leave for any wedding in the family, the wedding card must be submitted with the application.

Telephone Calls

  • 1. Parents of the boarders can ring up their wards as per the schedule given. The call can be made on the landline numbers of Queens’ Residential Campus.
  • 2. The time allotted to a boarder is 10 minutes.
  • 3. Only parents’ calls are entertained. We do not allow any other calls.
  • 4. Telephone numbers of Queens’ Residential Campus are: 0731- 2877888, 2877999, 2877056.

Pocket Money

Boarders need money for various expenses from time to time.  Boarders are guided by the wardens to spend money wisely. The major heads are:
  • 1. Textbooks, reference books, project files, notebooks etc.
  • 2. Stationery
  • 3. Fee for various competitive examinations (optional)
  • 4. Photographs of various events as per their selection (optional)
  • 5. Medical expenses
  • 6. Sundry expenses during outings
  • 7. Tours (optional)
  • 8. Cards, gifts and such other items (optional)

Birthday Celebration

The birthday of each boarder is celebrated in the boarding house. A birthday cake is called for each child, which is cut during dinner time with all the boarders. The birthday girl can wear her birthday dress in the evening and she is allowed to attend five phone calls that day from her relatives.

 

Code of conduct for boarders

Living in harmony in the boarding house to function effectively is beneficial for all and provides a semblance of order and security. Hence, all members are made aware of and areexpected to abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the authorities.The rules of the boarding house have been framed with the aim to:
  • 1. Maintain order and security
  • 2. Promote self-discipline amongst boarders
  • 3. Give girls the opportunity to perform academically and develop their personality by participating in activities organized from time to time
  • 4. To foster a culture of mutual care, respect and acceptance of others.
  • 5. The set of rules are reviewed and revised time to time in order to be updated.
  • 6. The boarders are expected to familiarize themselves with these rules and to ensure that they abide by them.
  • 7. Teasing, bullying, quarrelling and use of abusive language are forbidden in the hostel and may even lead to expulsion from the hostel.
A student found guilty of breach of discipline or indulging in any dishonest or immoral act can be summarily suspended or expelled from the hostel and school without any liability on the part of institution, and the dues paid will not be refunded.

General rules for boarders

  • 1. Boarders must follow the daily routine of the hostel and the school.
  • 2. They must also read up notices puton the hostel notice board from time to time and coordinate accordingly.
  • 3. Announcements are made at lunchtime/ evening prayer time/ dinner time. Hence, the inmates must reach the venues on time.
  • 4. Coaching classes run by the hostel are to be attended without fail.
  • 5. In case someone falls sick, she must inform the warden immediately.
  • 6. All medicines/ tonics to be used by inmates must be deposited with the warden and are only to be taken from her for consumption.
  • 7. The food items allowed are: pickles, khakhra, chocolates, biscuits, parmal, chana, dry fruits and all homemade snacks.
  • 8. Nobody is allowed to stay back in the dormitory during the school/ activity/coaching without the warden’s permission-slip.
  • 9. Entry of schoolmates in the dormitories is not permitted.
  • 10. Personal celebrations in the dormitory/ boarding house are not allowed.
  • 11. All members and specially members of the same dorm should live in harmony with each other and should help their dorm mates whenever required.

Cleanlines in dormitories

  • 1. Girls are expected to always keep their dorms tidy and clean.
  • 2. Surprise checks are done from time to time by wardens and superintendent.
  • 3. Cupboards are inspected from time to time.
  • 4. Girls are expected to fold their bed sheets/quilts before they go to school/ coaching or on outings.
  • 5. All the footwears should be kept outside in the racks.

Discipline in the mess

  • 1. Boarders who enter the dining hall are expected to behave in a disciplined and civilized manner.
  • 2. Meals begin only after prayers.
  • 3. After meals, benches should be put back in place noiselessly.
  • 4. Silence must be maintained while eating.
  • 5. Boarders wear hostel uniform for evening snacks and dinner and on Sundays for all meals.
